Spontaneous Sabbath Toolkit

the central place for streams, links and resources during this season

We are incredibly thankful to be the Church together. We love you and are continually blessed to serve alongside such a faithful, committed and gift community of people. Even though we can’t gather on Sundays right now, we are here for you as pastors and staff. We’ve been praying fervently for you all and for our ministry here in Flagstaff. Our friends at Redemption Tempe have coined the term “spontaneous sabbath” for this season. An opportunity for us to slow down and with intentionality to connect with various aspects of life that maybe we’ve been too busy for. To encourage you in this endeavor we have put together this Spontaneous Sabbath Toolkit with resources and links for you and family to continue healthy Kingdom practices and cultivate new ones. Please check it regularly as we will continue to add new helpful resources and ways to connect.

Love you,

Redemption Flagstaff Elders & Staff

COVID-19 has been spreading rapidly across the Navajo & Hopi Nations and has greatly affected so many of our neighbors. Due to the remoteness, 40% of the population on Navajo Nation still lives without running water and electricity. Family clan systems and cultural norms create communities of interdependency fueled by 55.9% unemployment and 43% of the population living under the poverty rate. When there are multiple generations, and perhaps multiple families, living in one household, it’s hard to isolate those that are sick from those that are well. Consequently, there is a high potential of entire households with the COVID-19. Currently we are committed to doing food and tangible goods to 10+ communities on Navajo and Hopi Nations through the end of July. We are doing 300+ boxes every two weeks so will be doing 4+ more deliveries to those communities. Here is all the info for donating items, partnering financially and helping pack boxes. It takes a whole lot of work to gather all the needed materials, pack boxes, put them on the trucks and then make all the deliveries – we need volunteers to make it all happen! Email kaileyjensen@redemptionaz.com with questions about donating supplies or volunteering to pack boxes. Thank you so much for helping us love our neighbors during this time. CLICK HERE to see the items that are needed and how we can come alongside them during this time.

If you would like to partner financially to care for our Navajo and Hopi neighbors, we have set up this easy link : https://tinyurl.com/NativeNeighborsFund

As you might know, we launched a text-in prayer line a couple of Sundays ago! We want you to be able to engage in prayer in a variety of ways during this season. Essentially, you can text a prayer request to this number, 928-288-0566 and it lands in a Gmail account that the prayer team checks daily. Requests can be anonymous, but they don’t have to be.

Watch our service live on Sundays at 10am on either Youtube or Facebook Live
