Each Redemption Church congregation is led by a team of local elders and staff. The unified body of Redemption (all congregations) is overseen by a Leadership Team.
I am Pastor of Communities and Mentorship at Redemption Flagstaff. This means I try to get people into community with each other in all sorts of ways. One way is through our Redemption Communities. Another way is through mentor/mentee relationships, where those more mature in the faith walk alongside and mentor those younger in the faith. I do a handful of other things at Redemption Flagstaff, which include occasional preaching, pre-marital counseling, leadership development, and a lot of other things.
A little bit about me, I grew up in the Church and believed in God because I watched my Dad’s prayer life and knew that he wasn’t crazy and just talking to himself. However, as I hit my junior high years I started to dislike going to church and being a part of the church. I was finding my identity in being funny more than anything else. In the midst of all that, I still had this hunger to be loved and known by God. Well the reality was God did know me and love me, I just didn’t realize it yet. The summer after 9th grade, the Holy Spirit showed me his love for me in a way that spoke directly to me at a summer camp. Every since then, I have been diving deep into my relationship with Jesus.
I am married to a wonderfully spunky woman named Jessica who I met in college at ASU. We are both from Phoenix originally. We have an even spunkier 2-year-old daughter named Amelie. We lead an RC in Sunnyside together and have been up here at Redemption Flagstaff, since it first started in 2012.
I lead the Community and Global Team here are Redemption Flagstaff with the intention to to help our staff, congregation and community partners lean in, love Flagstaff deeply and demonstrate the gospel. Through community partnerships like the Peak School, Az1.27, Champions in Action, Second Saturdays, Summit High School, and ongoing community initiatives we build relationships, support and engage in meeting needs in our community. I also run our Foster, Kinship and Adopt initiatives that include many ways to support and encourage foster, kinship and adoptive families in our church as well as throughout the city of Flagstaff. While raising awareness for the great need in Arizona, resourcing with agencies, facilitating trainings and support group open to all foster, kinship & adoptive families in Coconino county, supporting families in becoming licensed and navigating the child welfare system here in Flagstaff. I am passionate about supporting children and families here in our community and in our state.
After attending NAU and working internationally for a few years in Global Development and with NGO’s caring for vulnerable children, I returned to Flagstaff. Bringing a background in Women and Gender Studies, and experience in NGO’s and non-profits, child welfare, behavioral health, youth ministry and community development – the goal is to continue developing and deepening our relationship with partners and families in our cities to share the gospel in places that we step into. In so many ways this is an answer to my dreams of engaging the faith community in caring for the needs of the vulnerable in our city, state and world. I am so thankful to be in this community and live out the gospel in Flagstaff!
I love exploring the beautiful of southwest kayaks and hammocks whenever possible and making the rounds of all the delicious coffee places in Flagstaff!
I have the privilege of being an elder at Redemption Flagstaff, most likely due to the fact that I am one of, if not the oldest person who attends this church. My heart is in mentoring and discipling men to inculcate Godly disciplines that produce a lifestyle of “living out the Gospel”,
a life long endeavor, one which I am still traversing. My wife and I cherish the friendships that have been built over the years of mentoring. I co-lead classes from time to time at Redemption Flagstaff, meet regularly with the other elders/pastors for study, accountability, prayer and church related issues. I am a scripture memory advocate and will continue that habit all the days of my life.
I have been a Christian since Junior High School. The Lord was gracious and revealed the truth and transforming power of Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade in Tempe, Arizona.
I met my wife Kelli at Westmont College and we were married in 1985. We have three grown daughters.
I am the President of Westfork Construction in Sedona, Arizona.

Redemption church is multi-congregational in structure. This means that a central governing body provides structure, direction, and support for the ministry of each local congregation. Local congregations, like Redemption Scottsdale, are united and collaborative, but each has its own leadership and is free to contextualize its efforts. Click on the link below to learn more about the overall structure of Redemption.
We are a non-denominational church with a Reformed view of salvation. We believe that all of life is all for Jesus. We have been saved by grace through faith, which is itself a gift. That gift empowers us to be a transformed people who embody His redemptive power and participate in the renewal of all things.
We are a sent people. As the church we are not called to turn inward and build our own kingdom. We are called to turn outward and give ourselves to the spread of the Gospel, the establishment of healthy local churches, and the multiplication of disciples. This is a call to invest beyond our church, beyond our tribe, and beyond our generation.
We strongly believe that all members of the body of Christ are sent people, called to proclaim and demonstrate the gospel to the world. Therefore our community and global efforts should never be limited to structured programs. However, in response to the needs in our community, and God's heart for the nations, we do build global partnerships and facilitate opportunities to participate in God's mission of blessing the nations in Christ.
